German Dutch Business Forum at NEC: Choices for Transformation & Growth28. January 2020
Classes & Exams Cancelled Due to Storm10. February 2020
New European College – Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences Munich Campus – was abuzz this week in preparation for meeting our newest students, who arrived on Wednesday for February Orientation. These new members of our international student body span five different continents and represent 11 diverse nationalities – Germany, India, America, Syria, Turkey, Albania, Trinidad and Tobago, Kosovo, Morocco, United Arab Emirates and France.
Orientation kicked off on a chilly winter morning with warm drinks, freshly baked Bavarian pretzels and a welcome greeting from NEC Chancellor Liebhardt. After meeting members of the academic administration and admissions teams, students were introduced to life as a student in Munich and given tips for navigating their student obligations and study plans.
Chancellor Liebhardt then led the group to downtown Munich for a walking tour of Marienplatz – the city center – where he impressed students with his in-depth knowledge of Munich’s historic buildings, hidden alleyways, important sites and amusing anecdotes from its vibrant past. Students agreed that sampling roasted chestnuts and walking through the stunning Fünf Höfe shopping center were highlights from the tour.
On the second day of Orientation, students were welcomed back with a presentation on Germany’s visa/insurance regulations and procedures, followed by an in-depth training on how to use their online learning platform. After lunch and a chance to get to know each other better, students learned about how to find internships and employment opportunities with their student visa, and ended the day with an English diagnostic assessment.
We are excited to watch our newest students grow, develop and transform as they complete their business education at New European College. Be sure to follow New European College on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn to see our students’ progression from Orientation to Graduation, and stay tuned for our next intake in March 2020.
