Check your schedules because Munich is full of events this April!
This week in Munich we have been enjoying warm weather with temperatures reaching up to 21 degrees and as spring settles in, seasonal spring events and special events are scheduled to take place in the Bavarian capital.
In April, Munich citizens will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of events — Beer festivals, flea markets, museum exhibitions, concerts, Easter festivals and many more, and naturally with warmer weather comes the return of the Biergarten season.
In today’s blog post we will present events you could attend while living in Munich, some of the events are free of charge while others have a small fee with student discounts available.
Osterfest im Olympiapark
On 21 April the Olympiapark will be the host of the biggest Easter festival in Munich, which will begin at 11:00 AM and is set to last around 6 hours. With the slogan “The best Easter bunnies are in the Olympiapark!” the event promises fun activities and good music for people of all ages. Best part entry is free!

Samurai. The splendour of Japanese chivalry — The Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller collection
For the first time ever in Germany, the Samurai Collection of Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller will be presented to the public. The exhibition contains over 100 objects of the Japanese Samurai culture that date from the 7th to the 19th century. Munich visitors and citizens will have the opportunity to appreciate the magnificent pieces at the Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung, the exhibition is available daily from 1 February – 30 June 2019. Michael Jackson Thriller – Live
The king of pop is back! The live musical Thriller celebrates 10 years of its premiere in Germany and returns to Munich in early April.
Performances will take place from 02.04 to 14.04 in the Deutsches Theater. The attendees of the event will have the opportunity to watch a live performance of over 30 songs of Michael Jackson, including his biggest hits.
Night Of The Jumps
Are you a fan of acrobatics or motocross? Then this event is perfect for you!. On 27 & 28 April, the Olympiahalle will receive amazing freestyle pilots in the motocross scene, spectators will enjoy a show full of acrobatics, music, lights and fireworks.

Munich spring beer festival is back, often called the “Mini Oktoberfest” is the perfect choice to enjoy an Oktoberfest atmosphere with significantly fewer crowds. This year the festival takes place from 26 April to 12 May in the Theresienwiese. In the festival you will not only find beer, also on 27 April the biggest Flea Market in Bavaria will take place at this location.
