Every month Munich is full of events for its citizens and visitors, so its time to see the higlights of May’s event calendar!

With the color explosions of flowers blossoming in the main squares, Munich is a beautiful place to spend spring in.

BMW Open

Are you a fan of sports? During the first days of May, the annual BMW open will be taking place in Munich. This event marks the beginning of the ATP tournament season in Germany. In this tournament, attendees will have the opportunity to watch in action some of the best tennis players in the world, including the German star and current champion Alexander Sverev, who holds the third position in the ATP men’s singles ranking.

Kino am Olympia see

May’s spring weather marks the beginning of a very popular season among Munich citizens, the outdoor cinemas. Starting on May 16, the outdoor cinema at Olympiapark will “open its doors” to movie fanatics who wish to enjoy a different setting while watching their favorite films and while you wait for your movie to start, games such as foosball are available. Kulturstrand am Vater-Rhein-Brunnen

Experience the Caribbean in Munich.  From May 10 until August 10, Munich will have its own piece of a Caribbean beach where people will enjoy cultural activities and lots of music. Located in Vater-Rhein-Brunnen, this beach made up of 120 tonnes of sand will provide the perfect spot to an evening out with your friends.

K2 Blade Night

Do you love skating? On May 13 and after a two-year pause the biggest skating event in Germany returns. During the blade night, skaters will have the opportunity to tour the centre of Munich without any of the regular vehicle interruptions and enjoy the wonderful views of the city at night. Streetlife Festival in Leopold Strasse 

Save the date because the annual streetlife festival is around the corner. On May 25 and 26 the Leopold Strasse in the centre of Munich will host one of the most vibrant festivals in the city. In this festival, you will find everything you can imagine from food to arts and crafts and even live performances.
