Not only does Munich have a reputation for steady economic growth, it also consistently ranks as one of the world‘s top cities for quality of life. Munich is a truly cosmopolitan economic hub known not only for the famous Oktoberfest, but for its cleanliness, safety, and unique combination of technology and tradition. It’s also home to renowned international companies such as BMW, Siemens, Allianz and FC Bayern München.
The international business scene in Munich is thriving and NEC constantly encourages students to take full advantage of the many opportunities this provides. NEC sees itself as a key member within the business community and along with Chancellor Liebhardt, is involved in a range of business activities that further promote best practices, networking and the sharing of ideas – the newest to the scene being the International Business Council Munich (IBCM).
In an effort to combine the strengths of the many international business organizations and opportunities that exist in Munich, IBCM was recently launched as an umbrella organization to provide an interface for the international business community. IBCM’s mission is to support the sharing of ideas, facilitate making new business contacts and stimulate learning.
The IBCM kick-off event on 13 March, 2018 brought together 14 of Munich’s most active international business clubs and created a wonderful opportunity for NEC’s newest MBA students to network and engage. NEC is looking forward to the future of IBCM and the rich environment it will provide Munich’s growing international business community.
